Frequently asked questions

What is a full-day trip?

A full-day yacht rental typically lasts 7 to 9 hours. It includes activities like sightseeing, swimming, and snorkeling, with meals and drinks often provided.

What is a half-day trip?

A half-day yacht rental usually lasts about 4 to 5 hours. Activities may include cruising, swimming, or sightseeing, often accompanied by light refreshments.

What is an overnight trip?

An overnight yacht trip starts in the morning with a full day of cruising and activities. Guests enjoy onboard meals, stay overnight at a scenic location, and return to the marina the following day.

Are there restrictions on the number of passengers and their age?

Yes, the number of passengers is limited by the yacht’s size and safety regulations. Age restrictions may also apply, particularly for young children or elderly passengers, depending on the trip. It’s recommended to consult the management company before departure.

What documents should I provide?

To rent a yacht, the following documents are usually required:

Identification: A valid passport or government-issued ID.
Driver’s License: If operating the yacht yourself (bareboat charter), you may need a boating license or certification.

What if there are bad weather conditions?

If weather conditions prevent you from going to sea, it is advisable to postpone the booking and arrange a new date with the management company.

Guest Insurance

Boat insurance covers injuries up to 500,000 THB. Guests are encouraged to seek medical attention immediately for any injuries. Loss or damage caused by negligence will be charged to the guest. Alcohol and drug consumption is discouraged, and incidents occurring under the influence may not be covered by insurance. Water activities conducted outside the boat are at guests’ own risk and are not covered by the insurance.

Reservation Deposit: A deposit is usually required to secure your booking, which may be non-refundable depending on the company’s policy.
Final Payment: The full payment is often required before the start of the trip, typically on the departure day.
Cancellation Policy: There are usually specific terms for cancellations, which may include forfeiture of the deposit or payment if the cancellation is made within a certain period before the booking date.
Passenger Limits: Adhere to the maximum number of passengers allowed on the yacht as per safety regulations.
Charter Agreement: You may need to sign a charter agreement outlining the terms and conditions of the rental.
ID Verification: Valid identification and any necessary licenses (for bareboat charters) must be provided before the booking is finalized and departure time.
Check-in and Check-out Times: Be aware of the specified times for boarding and disembarking.

Check-in and Documentation: Upon arrival at the marina or departure point, you will check in with the yacht rental company. You’ll need to present necessary documents such as your passport, identification, and any required licenses if you’re chartering the yacht without a crew (bareboat).
Safety Briefing: Before setting sail, the crew or the rental company will provide a safety briefing. This includes instructions on using life jackets, emergency equipment, and the general safety protocols while on board.
Yacht Inspection: You may be given a walk-through of the yacht, during which you can inspect the vessel for any pre-existing damage. It’s essential to note any issues to avoid disputes later.
Itinerary Review: The captain or crew will review the planned itinerary with you, including the route, expected weather conditions, and any special requests you may have.
Provisioning: If not done beforehand, provisioning (loading of food, drinks, and other supplies) may take place. You can either handle this yourself or have the yacht company manage it.
Departure Time: The yacht will typically depart at the agreed-upon time. Depending on the tides, weather, or other conditions, the departure time may need to be flexible.
Setting Sail: After all the formalities are completed, the yacht will set sail, and your trip will officially begin.

Advance Notice: Full refunds or minimal penalties are usually available if the cancellation is made well in advance, typically 30 to 60 days before the booking date.
Partial Refunds: If you cancel within a shorter timeframe, like 15 to 30 days before the trip, you might receive a partial refund, with the company retaining a portion of the payment as a penalty.
No Refunds: Cancellations made within a very short period, often within 1-3 days of the booking date, may result in no refund, with the entire payment being forfeited.
Weather Conditions: Some companies offer a full refund or rescheduling option if the trip is canceled due to unsafe weather conditions.
